Community
At New Columbia Solar, we’re passionate about supporting our community. We aim to make a positive impact, first and foremost, through our own work and our partnerships to create a cleaner, and more equitable, world. We also sponsor local nonprofit and charity events, organize company-wide volunteer days, and supply our business operations with a preference for small, locally-owned businesses.
Partnerships
Fortis Warranty
A quality, built-to-last roof is essential to supporting the weight of a solar system; our exclusive partnership with Fortis Warranty helps ensure that your roof is solar-ready.
Change-Making Initiatives & InstitutesÂ
New Columbia Solar supports organizations that are training future talent and increasing diversity and inclusion across the clean energy industry. Examples include CELI and Renewables Forward.
Local Policymakers & Industry Associations
Founded in our nation’s capital, New Columbia Solar collaborates with national policymakers and industry leaders to shape the future of solar energy. Examples include SEIA, CHESSA, Council members across the District, and Governor Wes Moore’s administration in Maryland.
DC Solar for All Program
Solar for All is an initiative that aims to provide clean energy to over 100,000 low-to-moderate income families in the District. The program was launched by the District Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) in 2017 and has been operated by the DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU) since 2019. As the solar developer with the largest share of Solar for All projects, we are happy to work with customers to have their properties considered to lease for a Solar for All installation. If you are a resident of the District, click the button below to find out if you qualify for Single Family or Community Solar opportunities.
